After Arias left the crime scene, she drove through the desert towards Utah. She had taken the gun, possibly the knife, had changed clothes, and dumped them en route. She claimed the gun was thrown somewhere in the desert, and the clothes, (and possibly) the knife, were thrown into a dumpster. Regarding the knife, she only had memories of dropping it on the bathroom tile floor, and putting it into the dishwasher, but she doesn't remember if that was on June 4, 2008 or another time. She approached a police checkpoint outside of the Hoover Dam, claimed she stopped before she got to it, and cleaned her hands of blood with the bottled water from her trunk. She also said she didn't have shoes on at that point either, but doesn't remember what happened to them.
