The Murder of Travis Alexander

Arias claimed to have pulled up in Travis's driveway around 4:00-5:00am on June 4, 2008. She claimed that she entered the home through the garage, and found him in his office watching YouTube videos. She stood in the doorway for a while watching him. His dog, Napoleon, finally heard her and barked. She claimed Travis hugged and kissed her hello. She said that Travis wanted sex from her at that point, but she said she was too tired from the long drive, so they went to sleep. They woke up around 1:00pm the same day. Around that time, and later, Arias and Travis had sexual encounters and took photos. Travis had recently purchased a brand new camera, and they used this new camera to take the photos. There were 2 of him, naked on the bed, and lots of her vagina, anus, and a shot of her entire naked body lying on the bed wearing pigtails in her BROWN hair. So we know that Arias rented the car in Redding as a blonde, but by the time she ended up at Travis's house, she had brown hair. There were also photos of Travis in the shower, naked, close ups and waist up shots. His face shots showed his recently shaven face as well. All the sex and shower photos were time stamped around 5:30pm. The camera also caught inadvertent photos that had been deleted from the camera. The inadvertent photos included a shot of Travis sitting in the shower, a shot of the ceiling shower light and door, and a close up photo of Travis's back of head, right shoulder with blood dripping down his shoulder, with a leg and socked foot in the foreground. All of the shower photos were time stamped within exactly 62 seconds of each other; from Travis alive in the shower to the bloody shoulder photo at the end.
Arias claimed that she had wanted to take photos of Travis in the shower, however at one point she claimed she had seen a Calvin Klein ad and wanted to recreate the water on Travis's face and body, and another time she claimed he wanted the photos for himself because he had been working out for Cancun and liked the way his body looked.
Arias testified that she had dropped the camera by accident when taking photos, and "Travis snapped." He allegedly got up out of the shower, all while calling her a "fucking idiot," and saying, "a fucking 5 year old can old a camera better than you," and picked her up and body slammed her on the tile floor. She claimed to have rolled away to the right, and ran into the adjoining closet (I'm literally rolling my eyes as I write this out). The 11.5 foot walk in closet ran parallel to the bathroom with a hallway in between the two, and had two entrances; one to the bathroom and another into the hallway leading into the master bedroom. She claimed that she ran into the closet, slammed the door behind her, remembered that Travis had a gun on the very top shelf in the corner of the closet, jumped up on the first or second resting shelf, grabbed the gun, ran out the door into the bathroom, all while Travis was entering the closet behind her (mind you, she initially claimed that Travis "never owned a gun" on June 10, 2008, and all his friends said he never owned a gun either). She ran into the middle of the bathroom, turned and pointed the gun at him. She testified that she didn't even know if the gun was loaded or not, she simply wanted him to stop because she was pointing it at him. He allegedly had that "mean look" on his face, the same one from back in August of 2007, you know, where nothing actually happened, and apparently the "gun went off," just as Travis was lunging at her "in a linebacker stance." Arias had a hard time describing it, but explained that Travis got down, just like a linebacker would, even with his head down, and physically lunged at her with his arms outstretched. They both fell backwards and the gun fell out of her hand. Meanwhile, Travis was yelling at her, screaming obscenities, but all she remembered is, "fucking kill you, bitch." She claimed to have absolutely no memory of anything after that. On the witness stand, she referred to her memory gaps as a "fog." Let me tell you that Arias has an impeccable memory. She remembered everything, down to the very last detail of what she ate on a specific day in 2007. She remembered what kind of sex she and her ex-boyfriends used to have (in graphic detail), and what they did many many years ago in very specific, redundant, mundane details. She remembered exactly what Travis said when he yelled at her or even didn't yell at her, many years ago. She demonstrated her impeccable memory during her 2 day interrogation videos, as well as her 18 days on the witness stand. So while she tried to make us all believe that she went into a "fog" the minute the gun went off, is extremely highly suspect.
So because Arias was in this "fog" from directly after the gun went off, she claimed she didn't remember any of the 27+ stab wounds, or the near decapitation, where his neck was cut down to the spine from ear to ear. Even though we all don't know the sequencing of events to this day, Arias strongly wants us to believe that the gunshot came first. The medical examiner, Dr. Kevin Horn, testified that all of the wounds would have been fatal eventually, but the neck wound was the most serious, and would have rendered him dead immediately. Therefore we can safely assume it was the last in the sequence of events. One of the knife wounds to his chest hit the heart, and Travis would have bled out from that. The majority of the other stab wounds were to the upper back and back of the head, as well as lots of defensive wounds on his hands and arms. The gunshot wound was to his high left side of the face, and the bullet traveled south through the frontal lobe of his brain, and finally rested in his right cheek. There was not an exit wound, and that would have eventually killed him as well. There was a huge blood stain found at the end of the hallway, near the bathroom door leading into his master bedroom, where the neck wound most likely occurred. Down the hallway leading up to the large blood stain, there was a large, long blood stain on the wall, which looked like the shape of a rainbow. This was ultimately where they found Arias's left palm print; on the hallway wall mixed in with his blood. In the bathroom, around the right bathroom sink, there was found to be lots of Travis's blood in and around the sink. It looked like he had stood over the sink while dripping blood, and at one point had coughed blood out onto the sink and mirror, as there was blood spatter all over. Travis was most likely standing over the sink, dripping blood, while he watched himself being stabbed in the back, literally, by Arias.
After the murder, Arias made a substantial effort to clean up the crime scene. Because it is believed that his neck wound occurred at the end of the hallway, Aris literally dragged him back down the hallway and back into the bathroom shower where she placed his body in a frog-like position. She likely turned on the water in the shower to wash away any DNA that was on the body. She had grabbed a glass from under Travis's sink and used it somewhere in the bathroom and threw it onto Travis's body in the shower, where it was ultimately found. She tried to mop up the floors, causing water and blood stains on the bottom of boxes that were in the bathroom. She stripped his bed and put a towel, a couple of Travis's shirts, shorts, and socks into the washer along with his new digital camera. She poured bleach into the washer and started the load. This was after she most likely deleted the inadvertent photos from the camera. It is speculated both ways that she either placed the camera into the washer purposefully, or did it by accident when she placed the other items in. She definitely most likely deleted the photos after Travis was already dead, so my speculation is she did it on purpose to try and ruin the camera. I simply think she didn't know that law enforcement could restore deleted photos even though she claimed she was a photographer.
At first, when the original trial was going on in early of 2012, I believed the sequencing of events occurred like this: Arias became extremely jealous that Travis was going to Cancun with another woman. She was upset that he didn't want to marry her, even though she tried to control him with sex. She was also upset after the late May 2008 text argument because I feel like she felt that she was "doomed" to a life of waitressing, stuck in hillbilly Yreka. Travis's was an outgoing, fun-loving, successful, extroverted business man who owned a nice home, and nice things. Ultimately if she couldn't have him, no one would have him. I still believe all of that today.
At first I believed the stabs came first, as she needed him in a vulnerable position. He was naked, wet, and sitting down in the shower when she took that knife she was hiding and stabbed him in the chest. Forensics indicate that some chest wounds indicate she was standing over him. Then he went to the sink, coughed up and spat up blood due to the many stab wounds. He then ran away from her after she was stabbing him in his back, and made it to the end of the hallway. Maybe he started to scream or whatever, but then she went for the throat. The attorneys mention " a slit throat," but she literally needed to have sawed at his neck for a while in order to receive that kind of wound. She dragged him back onto the bathroom and possibly thought that he wasn't dead yet, and shot him in the face post-mortem. Or maybe for one last final "fuck you."
After talking with a bunch of (pretty intelligent) people on YouTube, I've since changed my stance. I think all of the above motives, but maybe the gunshot really did come first. Ignore the forensic FACTS though, of the bullet casing actually being found in blood. Technically either she or Travis could've kicked it later on and that's why it was found sitting in blood. Who knows. But anyway, why would she have brought, or even had a knife, if she already had a gun, which we know she did? I think she possibly thought one or two shots in the head would've killed him. A .25 caliber handgun is not that powerful (in velocity), and people have been known to get up, get to the ER, and be saved. I think she wasn't anticipating his struggle or his fight he put up, so she got the knife. Or had it. Either one. I think she had him naked, wet, and vulnerable in that shower when she shot him in the head. Then as he was getting up to get to the sink, he was trying to defend himself (see forensic defensive wounds). He eventually ran away from her and ended up at the end of the hallway, and she went for the throat. I think she was a jealous, needy, obsessive, compulsive, evil, narcissistic, sociopathic LIAR.
So after the major attempt at cleaning up, Arias left Travis in his shower at home. He was discovered 5 days later by Mimi Hall and other friends. It apparently took that long because everyone thought he was in Mexico, and one roommate was house-sitting for a friend, and the other simply just didn't check. They called 911 and the police, Detective Flores, and Prosecutor, Juan Martinez, showed up at the scene. Forensics were collected, and friends and family were spoken to over the next few days. Flores kept hearing Arias's name being thrown around, and no one had anything good to say about her. They brought up her stalking tendencies and the ability to not let go, even though he tried to get rid of her on numerous occasions.

Arias's Premeditation

After Travis and Arias's late May 2008 text argument, Arias began intricate preparations to travel to Mesa, AZ to murder him. She began on May 28, 2008 by staging a burglary at her grandparents house. When the police arrived to the house, they discovered these "burglars" only wanted a .25 caliber handgun. They left all other rifles, shotguns, money, and electronics in the home. Arias claimed to return to the house around 1:00pm, and was asked to look around her room to see if anything was missing. She initially told them her laptop went missing, but later claimed that she was glad she had it with her because she normally keeps it in her clothes hamper. So even if she did have it in her hamper, the "burglars" didn't take it. She ultimately claimed the only thing missing from her room was a $10 and $20 bill, totaling $30. They apparently left the money that was in the closet with all the guns in it, and only took this .25 caliber handgun that Arias described a...

History of Jodi Arias

Jodi Arias was convicted of brutally murdering her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander on June 4, 2008 in his home in Mesa, Arizona. Mr. Alexander suffered a gunshot wound to the face, 27+ stab wounds, and near decapitation from ear to ear. Arias was sentenced to life in Perryville prison without the possibility of parole on April 13, 2015. Travis Victor Alexander was born on July 28, 1977 in Riverside, California. He was a dedicated Mormon, and even a temple-worthy Mormon at times, belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He worked as a salesman for a company called PrePaid Legal (PPL), currently Legal Shield, and was a motivational speaker. He had begun writing a book detailing his abusive childhood with his 7 additional siblings. His parents were drug addicts and possibly alcoholics, who severely neglected him and his siblings. They were all taken in by their paternal grandmother, Norma Jean Sarvey (1932-2012) and introduced to the church.  His book was to...

Arias and Alexander

After Arias moved back to Yreka in April of 2008, she and Travis continued to have a kinky, sexual relationship. They would have phone sex, talk almost every night, and when they saw each other, they'd have oral, anal, and vaginal sex. She claimed that Travis was the one who continued to want all kinds of sex from her. This was difficult to believe as Arias seemed to always be the one initiating their encounters. Arias had a tendency to pathologically lie throughout the entire case, so because it was proven she had lied from the very beginning about numerous things, it was difficult to believe anything that she said, even under oath on the witness stand. Arias ended up recording a very long phone conversation on May 10, 2008, which she claimed that Travis wanted for his enjoyment. Yet there was no evidence to support that, just evidence that she was recording the conversation (possibly as blackmail), without his knowledge. In this phone call we heard Travis specifically stating th...
